Dassault Systèmes, a company that makes 3D design software, has acquired Netvibes, a website that allows the creation of personalised dashboards combining social network updates, news alerts and RSS feeds. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Dassault Systèmes plans to link Netvibes’ user base with the industrial designers and engineers it traditionally serves, and use Netvibes’ platform to create a feedback system for businesses. Netvibes’ dashboard service allows users to create personalised feeds and content aggregators across social networks, news sires, RSS feeds and various apps and widgets. Netvibes will continue to be an independent entity within Dassault Systèmes, keeping its team intact.
