Social shopping service Threadflip pulls in USD1.6m

Threadflip, a social platform for buying and selling clothes and accessories, is launching with a USD1.6m investment. The website is focusing on middle- and upper-class apparel and asks users to upload pictures of high-quality item and set a fair price, or send it to the Threadflip office in San Francisco. The startup takes 15% from each deal from a seller. Currently the service offers around 8,000 items, such as a Marc by Marc Jacobs satchel for USD130.
