INTERVIEW: Kobalt Music Talks Transformation And Transparency In Music

The music industry is still wrestling to find a way to survive sustainably in the age of digital streaming. With even the most high-profile artists struggling Kobalt Music wants to help artists and publishers bring in revenue from the mountains of music available across the digital landscape. The London-founded company raised US60m in VC funding last year, led by Google Ventures (now GV) and offers a range of services from song tracking and royalty collection to independent label services for artists. Here Kobalt’s head of marketing Ryan Wright talks about the difficulty in bringing innovation and transparency to the industry.
