First Stop For Voice Recognition Is E-Commerce

Voice recognition software is now a standard feature on mobile devices and personal computers, but only recently has the technology powering it developed to a standard that makes it useful. Where once upon a time the likes of Siri or Cortana were seen as at best gimmicks and at worst unusable to anyone without a particular idiosyncratic accent, they can now be used to carry out increasingly complex tasks. And with Apple having just released a new and upgraded version of its flagship assistant Siri, which has also opened the platform up to third party developers, the time of the smart butler may be at hand - and e-commerce could be the first industry in its sights.
